Wedding Day Continued

6. the colors: show some of the flower and colors you used
Our colors were navy blue, plum purple, and sage green. A family friend of Clay’s parents did our flowers and they turned out beautiful!

                    Reception bouquet

7. the dress: was it what you always imagined? did you have it made for you? white or ivory?
My dress was nothing like what I had always imagined. When we got engaged, I thought I wanted a mermaid-style dress. I never imaged lace or a lot of detail. I kind of wanted a more simple dress. However, I love the dress I got. It has a sweetheart neckline with a collar in the back. It had a lot of beading and detail up top and then turned into lace towards the bottom. The color was ivory. I am convinced that the dress I got was not the one ordered for me though. It was WAY too tight when I tried it on at the fitting and the length was extremely long. My mother-in-law was able to let it out and I just had to make sure my heels were big enough.

8. the little accessories: you know, veil? shoes? jewelry? what did your bridesmaids wear?
I didn’t have a veil. Since my dress had a collar, I thought a veil would be a little too much. I had a hair piece which I really loved and went with my dress perfectly. The detail in the hair piece was almost exactly like the detail in my dress. On the actual wedding day, I had some dangly earrings which I got at Kohls and some bracelets, which I wish I hadn’t of worn. They were just too much (in my opinion). At my luncheon, I wore one of my grandma’s old necklace- but unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of that. My bridesmaids wore navy skirts and cream tops. I wanted them to be able to pick out their outfits. Both my sister-in-law and Clay’s sister-in-law were pregnant at the time we got engaged, but would have babies when we were married, so I wanted them to wear something they could be comfortable in. Our groomsmen wore grey tuxedos with purple ties.

                                 Shoes
Hairpiece (and bracelets I wish I wouldn't have worn)

Groomsmen (Brad, Bryce, Derek, Clay, Kevin, and Jeff)

Bridesmaids (Jennifer, Krissy, me, Erin, Nancy, and Gina)

9. the reception: where was it at? show us some pictures! what day did you get married?
We got married on June 25, 2011. The reception was at Sleepy Ridge Golf Club. I loved our reception venue. It was beautiful. So grand and elegant. I loved being able to take pictures on the golf course and it was so pretty in the summer.

10. the cake/food: so tell me about what you had at your wedding!
I don’t know how we found the lady that did our cake. I think my mother-in-law knew her from somewhere. (It’s been a year. I don’t remember these things anymore!) But our cake was beautiful. It had very simple detail on it that matched my dress and hair piece, with sugar flowers at the bottom. It was also delicious!

The food at our reception was catered through Marvellous Catering. They have a restaurant in Provo called Molly’s and it is SOO GOOD! Clay and I didn’t get a chance to eat anything at our reception…things were kind of busy. We ended up stopping at McDonalds after the reception on our way to Anniversary Inn, where we stayed on our wedding night.
