This weekend started off slow, but ended really well. Friday, Clay and I decided to stay in and watch He's Just Not That Into You. I needed to watch a movie about a married couple for a homework assignment and this is the one that came to mind first. So, we watched the movie and did our laundry. Friday night has become our "laundry night"...we are an old married couple after 7 months.
Saturday, we woke up, went to the gym, got ready, did our grocery shopping, washed the car, and did homework. Clay did homework for probably close to 7 hours that day/night (the joys of being a law student). I redboxed Courageous. Such a good movie. It is a Christian movie about 5 men (4 are police officers) who live their lives trying to provide for the families. All of the men go through a life changing experience and one of the men decides he doesn't want to be a "good enough" dad. He wants to be the best dad he can to his children. They write up a Resolution to become better fathers and husbands for their families. It was such a great movie. I feel it goes along with Elaine S. Dalton's talk in this past conference with her quote of "the best thing a husband can do for his children is to love their mother." I definitely recommend everyone seeing this movie!
Sunday started off with french toast for breakfast made by my wonderful husband. We got ready, cleaned up the house a little bit and went to church. We came home, talked with our families, and started making dinner. We invited some friends from our ward over for dinner that night and it was a blast. We've been in the ward for about 7 months and we have never really talked to this couple before. Last week we sat next to them and both Clay and I thought, "why have we never hung out with them before?" We quickly invited them over for dinner and it was a blast. We spent the night getting to know them and are so excited to hang out with them again.
The weather has been awesome here in Kansas. I know it has been abnormally warm, but both Clay and I joke that if we have to endure 110 degree summers, we will take 40 degree winters! Today it got up to 67 degrees. At work all the middle school girls were wearing their short skirts and even shorts..I wouldn't say it was warm enough for that, but I AM LOVING THIS WEATHER!!
