I love going to work each morning for a couple of reasons, the first one being I love my job. I love being able to help and teach those individuals who are not capable of doing everything on their own. I love getting to know each one of them and seeing their special spirits and personalities shine through. The second reason is I love seeing all these hormone crazed middle schoolers walk through the halls or sit at their desk in class thinking they are "all that and a bag of chips!" Many of them try and act cool and show off for their friends, when in reality, they look silly and immature. Whenever I see girls acting like this, I just think to myself, "it definitely was not like this when I went to middle school."
Back to the first reason why I love going to work each morning. I love seeing the kids as they come in from the bus or from their locker and how happy (most of the time) they are. There is one student I work with who has quite the attitude problem. He has called me stupid numerous time. He also tells me to stop talking, that he can't hear me, or that I am flat out wrong. I find it so funny and love coming home to tell Clay all the things he said to me.
I am so blessed to have gotten this job. I absolutely LOVE what I am doing and I don't dread getting out of bed. I get to play games, help with math and reading, go to music class 2 times a day, watch The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland at least 3-5 times a day, and see these kids grow and learn new skills every day.
