Clay and I had the opportunity to go to Michigan this past weekend for our second reception. Everything started off great. The food was amazing, the tent/tables looked great, and our family and friends were there. About 30 minutes into our reception, it started raining. Not just sprinkles, but full on rain, thunder, and lightning!
Most of our guests were outside under the tent in the backyard when it suddenly started to downpour. They were all huddled in the middle of the tent, trying to stay dry. Luckily, Clay and I were inside, so neither of us got wet.
Thank goodness everyone eventually made it inside (some more wet than others) and we were able to be flexible and accommodate everyone inside.
Even though the night did not go according to plan, we have a great story to tell!!
We really enjoyed our trip to Michigan. I loved seeing my family and spending time with them, as well as Clay's family! Even though Clay use to live in Michigan, we have only been there together in the winter (Christmas of 2010) so I decided to show him some of my favorite places to walk around and to eat at. We also got to visit Clay's best friend Jeff, who was interning for Ford this summer. It was great to visit and catch up with him.
All in all, it was a great, memorable weekend!
